Definition

The mass of isolated product compared to the theoretical maximum obtainable, based on the limiting reagent. This needs experimental data (and ideally a pure enough product). It doesn’t take into account solvent usage, excess of one or more reagents, catalysts, work-up reagents, or solvents.
