Reverse Dean Stark Trap

The reverse Dean-Stark trap works in a very similar fashion to the Dean-Stark trap, except that the loop of glass at the bottom of the trap allows the more dense solution to be pushed back into the reaction flask during the course of the reflux. The product being extracted (eg water in a reaction using DCM) would sit in the trap, and any of the more dense solvent will drip through the less dense trapped product.
