Shimadzu UV-2600 Spectrometers

Instrument

Teaching Labs has one Shimadzu UV-2600 spectrophotometers. This is a high-resolution spectrophotometer mainly used by project students for advanced spectroscopy requirements. The instrument can record liquid or gas samples and can operate in several pathlength modes.

Use

This instrument is principally for recording very high resolution scanning spectra of compounds at resolutions not available from the Shimadzu UV-1800 spectrometers. The UV-2600 can also record kinetic and photometric data in the same way as the UV-1800 spectrometers.

Accessing data

Data which has been saved on the spectrophometer computers is available from ftp://chemtl.york.ac.uk/UVS/ctluv2600/. The default filename is in the format File_yymmdd_hhmmss.
